Barbara Keating, based in Newcastle on Tyne, is an Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro, with a fresh perspective on editing
for creative media.
A digital artist with over 20 years experience in the UK and overseas, she provides bespoke training for media professionals,
creatives, education and arts organisations and charities
She is a consultant to the Open University of Tanzania, where she has been authorised to set up an Apple Training Centre
for Education. Over the next few years she will train local media professionals to take over.
In her artwork Barbara uses technology and a wide range of capture methods to create interactive, innovative work
for performances and site specific installations.
Her training reflects this creative approach :
Emphasising the most efficient workflows, how Final Cut is situated in the industry, and how it links with other applications.
She also writes for Larry Jordan’s Edit Well magazine.

Success ! The device control software made by Sam Keating http://midibounce.net was successfuly tested live on the
(very cold) River Tyne over Easter.
Red One filming starting for River Tyne interactive, device control project.
The final work will be in the form of a touring installation.
A multi-touch screen will display images of the bed of the Tyne from Port of Tyne’s sonar
scans. Viewers will scroll across this, triggering film of journeys filmed on a variety of vessels.
